Continuous Glucose Monitoring

When you use the optional Continuous Glucose Monitoring Kit with your insulin pump, you will have access to continuous glucose readings, safety alarms and glucose trend data around the clock.
The Continuous Glucose Monitoring kit contains:
  • MiniLink™ REAL-Time Transmitter
  • A 10-pack of glucose sensors
  • Sen-serter® device to make sensor insertion precise and comfortable
  • Transmitter adhesive patches (10)
  • IV3000 adhesive dressing (10)

Continuous glucose monitoring gives you important benefits that you can't get with fingerstick measurements alone.

Easy to Wear, Easy to Use

MiniMed Paradigm REAL-Time and MiniLinkThe MiniMed Paradigm 522 or 722 insulin pump A is small so you can wear it almost anywhere – under your clothing in a leg pouch, thigh pouch, bra pouch or on your belt like a mobile phone.

It delivers insulin through a soft tube called a cannula B that sits under your skin for up to 3 days after being inserted in a single virtually painless step. You can disconnect from the insulin pump easily and quickly for activities such as bathing, swimming or changing clothes.

Continuous glucose monitoring is made possible through a tiny glucose sensor C you wear for up to 3 days at a time. Like the cannula, it is easily inserted using an automatic insertion device provided with the system.

Glucose sensor data is sent continuously to a MiniLink™ REAL-Time Transmitter D, a small lightweight device that attaches to the glucose sensor. The transmitter sends the glucose data to the insulin pump through advanced radio frequency (RF) wireless technology. (The glucose sensor, transmitter, and adhesive patch are all waterproof.)

Continuous Glucose Monitoring Lets You Enjoy REAL Control with REAL Confidence

A Continuous Glucose Readings help you take action sooner to improve control of your glucose levels and reduce the risk of long-term health complications. The MiniMed Paradigm® REAL-Time Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring System takes measurements continuously and displays updated glucose values every 5 minutes to help you take the right action at the right time to improve control of your diabetes. Fingerstick measurements using a standard blood glucose meter are still required before making therapy adjustments, and to calibrate the system. [1, 2, 3]

MiniMed Paradigm REAL-Time ScreenB Alarms are designed to warn you of low and high glucose levels that fingersticks and A1C testing may miss [4]. You can preset alarms to sound or vibrate. You can even customise the setting to just the right sensitivity for you.

C Trend Arrows point up or down to clearly show you the direction and rate of change in your glucose. Because even brief fluctuations can increase your risk of long-term problems this information helps you reduce the risk of long-term complications such as eye, nerve, heart and kidney disease [5].

D Trend Graphs show you the effect of meals, exercise, insulin and
medication on control of your glucose levels. Additionally, you can upload historical data from the insulin pump to CareLink® Online, where you can generate longer-term charts, graphs and tables for your records or to share with your healthcare providers [6].
