Your Infusion Set: A Key Component In Successful Pump Therapy

The selection of a reputable, reliable and safe Infusion Set and Reservoir is of primary importance for successful pump therapy. These two products are integral parts of your diabetes management and should be chosen with great care.

Your Infusion Set, Reservoir And Pump: An Integral System

The infusion set is made up of the infusion site and adhesive tape, the cannula housing, the tubing and the Luer-lock or Paradigm® connector, Medtronic’s patented system.
The tubing connector is attached to the insulin reservoir which is then placed into the pump.
The site contains a soft Teflon cannula or thin steel needle inserted under the skin, in the subcutaneous tissue. The insulin is carried from the reservoir to the site through the flexible tubing.

Which Infusion Set is right for me?

The guide below is based on choices commonly made by experienced pumpers and may be helpful in selecting your first infusion set. With experience, you may find that other sets also suit you. Always consult with your healthcare provider for further guidance when choosing or changing your infusion set.

Safety First

Medtronic Diabetes’ Infusion Sets have been designed with your safety in mind. They are hypoallergenic and skin-friendly and have been thoroughly tested to ensure you get consistent insulin delivery, all the time, every time. The tubing of your favourite Quickset®, Silhouette® or Easy-Set™ is made up of two layers, conferring both strength and flexibility to your set. The risk of accidentally snagging or splitting your tubing is greatly reduced as a result.
